An EV charger quote should identify the charging equipment, planned charging rate, and route from the electrical panel to the parking location. The device price alone cannot establish the installation total.

Price evidence and its limits

Product-only example, U.S. store, September 7, 2026: Tesla’s shop displayed $535 for the NACS Wall Connector with a 24-foot cable. The page also showed an out-of-stock notice, so this is an observed listing, not a promise of availability. Tesla directs buyers to obtain a separate electrician installation quote. Taxes, delivery, circuit work, and any capacity upgrade are not established by that device price. Tesla Wall Connector listing.

The listing is one product example, not a recommendation or a national equipment range. Obtain the complete installed total for equipment compatible with your vehicle.

Define the work in the quote

Vehicle and equipment

Specify the charger model, connector, mounting location, and desired charging schedule. Ask which charging rate the vehicle and proposed installation can actually use.

Electrical assessment

Request a load assessment and separately priced options if capacity is constrained. Ask whether the proposal uses hardwiring or a receptacle and which protective devices and approvals apply.

Route and final work

Include cable or conduit routing, trenching if needed, penetration sealing, parking-area restoration, testing, and setup. Separate optional connectivity subscriptions from required charging functions.

Federal credit timing and installed totals

For a new installation after June 30, 2026, do not subtract the federal alternative-fuel refueling property credit. IRS states that the credit ends for property placed in service after that date. Earlier projects have separate eligibility requirements. IRS credit guidance. Ask the electrician for a complete installed cash price before considering any separately verified utility program.

The key question before authorizing work

Ask: What is the complete installed price for the selected charging rate, including capacity work and the cable route?
