Emery County Property Records Research Fee: Search or Copy

Emery County lists $50 research plus 50 cents per parcel, while plat filings and document copies use separate lines.

By How we research prices

Emery County, Utah’s recorder schedule separates a research request from a survey filing and a copy order. Research is $50 plus $0.50 per parcel, a survey plat filing is $20, and an official subdivision-plat copy is $4. The schedule says fees changed May 6, 2026. Read Emery County’s recording-fee schedule.

A five-parcel research request is $50 + ($0.50 × 5) = $52.50. If the same project also needs a new survey plat filing, the county lines total $52.50 + $20 = $72.50, but only when both services are actually requested. The $4 subdivision-plat copy is a separate choice, not an automatic addition.

Reader’s need Published line What to provide
Research across parcels $50 + $0.50 per parcel Parcel list and requested history
File a survey plat $20 Survey filing prepared for recording
Copy an official subdivision plat $4 Plat/document identifier
Copy a recorded document $0.50 per page if county copies Number or legal description
Email a copy $5 first page, $0.50 each after Delivery method and document

The recorder’s FAQ says a specific document can often be found through the county indexes, while a thorough title search may be better handled by a title company. It also says copies can be requested in person, by mail, or by email; mailing adds postage and handling. Read the recorder FAQ. That process distinction is more useful than combining every fee into one “records search” price.

Start with the narrowest request that answers the question. If a title report already gives the instrument number, ask for the copy line instead of paying for a five-parcel research search. If the parcel history is unknown, give the recorder the parcel IDs, desired date range, and whether you need a document, plat, or certified copy. Ask whether email, certification, postage, or additional pages adds a fee.

These are Emery County recorder charges, not a private surveyor’s or title company’s fee. Recheck the schedule before ordering and keep the May 6, 2026 fee-change note with the request.
